I've Got My Eye On You

We're still in the middle of a heat wave - heck, our whole summer has been a heatwave! We're usually well into autumn weather, but hey, I am not going to complain about too much sunshine!
And it means it's way easier to keep wearing some of my "back of the closet" stuff - things I just don't wear as often, like this fabulous dress.

Such a favourite! And yet, I just don't wear it that much. Part of it is washing - and it does need a wash. I don't like to wash fancy stuff that often, and dry cleaners won't touch anything with embellishment on it. So there's always that risk, that an item will be ruined. And I love this way too much to lose it. Hence, fewer wears.
I last wore it here in June with cowboy boots. It will be packed away for the chilly season - I like showing my arms in it.
Boo-yah! Leg muscles!
I liked the extra length of the puffy underskirt with it. This is just a sheer, unhemmed skirt with a single flounce, but it is awesome for extending the length of some of my otherwise-too-short dresses and skirts. I wish I had one in every colours!

The stuff:
Yes, I am going to pack away my wondrous orange Fluevogs for the fall/winter. They've gotten more and more comfy the more I've worn them. I might need them in snakeskin...I last wore them here earlier this month with sequins.

Bitchin' bling:
I did uneven earrings again - I am grooving on this look.

Dress (Desigual), underskirt (Noa Noa), shoes (Big Presence Desmond, Fluevog), cuff/small earring (local), other earring (Oscar & Libby's), lapis lazuli/Fulvia Ring (Wendy Brandes).

  1. Great look! I love all of the pieces here and that dress is really amazing! So are the orange Fluevogs! Are they fabric? It looks like linen. I hope this nice weather lasts a lot longer because I've booked my Victoria stay for October 16-18.

  2. I always love to see Desigual stuff. That dress is gorgeous! You need some kind of magic powder to clean it - or be prepared to turn it into a tunic if it shrinks.

  3. The dress is really interesting, so I hope it survives a wash! Gentle cool machine cycles or a hand wash usually do the trick so fingers crossed. The net underskirt just sets it off nicely, as do the orange heels. xxx

  4. I really like all the colors and the pattern in this dress. And I can even see the "comfortable" in those great, orange shoes!

  6. I'm the same way with my fancy stuff. I don't like to wash it as often.

  8. THat's the Desigual dress !
I wash things often, here its so damn hot that you sweat stuff most of the time. BUT, do try to get at least 2 wears out of clothing.

  9. Try putting your dress in the freezer for a few days. It is supposed to kill all bacteria. I'll be freezing a pair of "sueded" pants that can not be cleaned.
