Purple Glitter Skirt of Awesome!

Is it Friday yet? It feels like it should be at least Thursday.
More glitter! This was a fun outfit to wear. It's not often you get to wear a lot of sparkle, but I think you can get away with it at Christmas.

I last wore this skirt in the December 2012 capsule challenge (recap here), where I wore it twice (last time here). I bought it at the Patch in July 2012 (here) for $19.99 - it was new, never worn, and had a tag that said it was a 2-piece outfit. Can't you just picture one of those 80s butterfly tops?
I hate indoor lighting at this time of year!
The sweater was last worn in November (here) with yesterday's skirt! I have a purple cami on under this but you can't really see it.
The skirt has no slit, so I had to take little steps.

The stuff:
My awesome Cydwoq shoes. I would love a pair of their boots one day. I last wore these here in October with one of my leather shirts.

Blue and silver bling:
A bracelet from London, a bracelet that fell in the toilet once, the Scottish ring, my Wendy ring and big dot earrings.

Sweater (Smart Set, thrifted), skirt (Beaded Drama, vintage 80s, thrifted), shoes (Cydwoq), belt (Plum), cuff (St. Paul's Cathedral Gift Shop), bracelet (thrift), lapis lazuli ring (Wendy Brandes), two-dot ring (handmade in Scotland, 1997), earrings (local).

This was my view this morning when I took the stair picture:
Trees, rooftops, and the castle on the right.

  1. Fun skirt! Fun shoes! And the colors are fun and rich and jewel-like - perfect for this time of year.

We've had some beautiful skies, too, but also an inversion holding in the cold weather and pollution. I actually am looking forward to some rain!

  3. Ooh, is that glitter on the skirt, or sequins? I'm starting to fall quite a bit for sequins- all of the fun and none of the craft herpes.

    1. It is covered in hand-sewn sequins, with a double border of hand-sewn bugle beads (the long tube ones). It's amazingly gorgeous.

  4. Grrr, I love great clothes - they generally make me want to STRIDE. So why would a maker of a wondrous garment not put slits in it? Why would they make us take little dainty steps? I suppose when you were walking in this, Sheila, your little steps gave people more time to admire you as you passed by. It is a fantastic skirt!

  7. Yes to sequins! You look so festive and chic in your sequin skirt, and still outfitted perfectly for the office. Those are some fab Cydwoqs, too.
