Casual Friday: Orange You Glad It's the Weekend?

Yee haw, it's Friday! And it's a long weekend! Does it get any better? I think not!

Today's outfit was built around this new-to-me skirt:
It's such a great colour! I love that rich orange. It's very thin, soft corduroy, and I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of it (and it's light, which means I can wear it to Weight Watchers!). It was $6 on my thrift store shopping trip with Elaine last weekend.

This is my first wearing of these boots since last April (here).
In case you can't tell, I'm wearing knee-high orange and brown argyle socks with them to bring the visual perception of the length up to my knee (instead of stumpifying my legs).

Other than that, this is my usual Casual Uniform of graphic tee (last worn here, pictures of the design here, along with some Paris pictures) and thin long-sleeved tee (a newish one that I picked up cheap on Plum's summer clearance about a month ago).

T-shirt (Upper Playground), long-sleeved shirt (Plum), skirt (Jacob Connextion, thrifted), socks (Hue), boots (Miz Mooz), choker (60s vintage, Mom's), belt (Plum).

  3. I've been coveting corduroy skirts everywhere this fall! I may have to slip out tomorrow to find one myself! I always forgot how hard it is to pull together stylish casual outfits - I'll be stealing some inspiration from this one!

  7. So THAT'S what knee socks under boots are all about. OK, I get it now. And the boots/socks/awesome orange skirt combo is working so very well for you.

  8. That skirt is such a CUTE spice/rust color. I like the idea of using dark socks with complementary accents to elongate your legs, too. It's not a concept I would have thought of, but I love the effect on you.

It's it great to break out our favorite boots again? One of the upsides of having such a cold early fall...

  9. LaHdM, thanks! It feels weird to be wearing socks already.

Thanks, Megan! I knew you'd love the orange.

Cara, it's so much cheaper in thrift/consignment stores. I'd love to see your interpretation of this. :)

    Thanks, shybiker!

Hi, Collette Ossuna - and thank you for commenting on my blog. Yours is very nice!

Thanks, Heather, ha, yes, I do that on bad hair days.

A-Dubs, it works for me - I think it looks fun, anyways. Thank you very much!

Kari, isn't it gorgeous? I fell in love with the colour. I know, loving boot weather (although all the rain can just go away!).
