Shades of Blue, and a Fab Coat

I'm in one of my low moods, gritting my teeth and getting through the day. I have so much on the go, but I just don't want to do anything at all. What to do?
Wear a dress, dammit! And since it's cold out, put a blouse under it. There, I feel better already.

  • Dress - Comrags, thrifted; last seen here in March with a ruffled blouse (my hair's so short!)
  • Blouse - St. Michael, vintage 80s, thrifted; first worn here in June with mint green and a brooch
  • Shoes - Esoteric Temptations Odette, Fluevog; last seen here in March with white pleather and a beetle
  • Coat (below) - Stop Staring!, thrifted; purchased here for $16.95

I didn't really feel much like "me" until I put the coat on, but still, it's a good dress.

I think the blouse might have a little too much sleeve for my taste. My arms look incredibly short.
Such a great colour, though! Bits of blue all over, with my blouse, the obi and the shoes and rings. Oh, and my glasses!

I love this dress - just wish it had pockets (I wish all my clothes had pockets!).
It's very swooshy. Swooshing can make you feel better - it's a fact.

Outerwear: I felt like a Russian princess in my outerwear. Now that's how I like to feel!
Isn't it a magnificent coat? Pockets, a thick satin lining, that collar, much swoosh (double Swoosh Factor!), that perfect waist. Love this coat.

  • Headwrap - thrifted for $2.95, first wear
  • Fur boa - thrifted
  • Gloves - Parkhurst

The stuff:
I'm fond of these shoes, but they are a little tricky to wear. They're a bit of a statement (and that's an understatement).

Blue bling:
The earrings look away wistfully...

  • Obi - Benetton, thrifted
  • Earrings - thrifted
  • Lapis lazuli ring/Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes

I have many things on the go, starting tomorrow night, and this is a long weekend coming up for us (Remembrance Day) in Canada. I'll be back on Monday with tales of adventure!

  4. I'm glad that beautiful coat gave you a boost as I think this is a lovely outfit on you and it would have been a shame if you didn't enjoy wearing it at all.

Hope you have a fun although busy rest of your week :)

    1. Thanks, Mica. I like the outfit, I just don't LOVE it, not like the previous day's, anyway. I think I will turf the blouse...maybe one more wear. Thank you! It's going to be a busy weekend!

  5. Oh, that coat! I'm swooning in a big way. I knew it was going to be good, but it's looking even more fabulous on you. I love how you cinched in the dress with the obi. I have a blouse I'm loving the print of, but which I'm never wearing because of the sleeves. Have a wonderful weekend full of adventures, and good luck at the flea market! xxx

    1. It's even better in person - very swooshy! Thank you - I love obis, but I'm kind of "off" them lately. I like big sleeves, but these just stumpify my arms. Thank you! I'm looking forward to all the good stuff this weekend.

  7. More than probably anything else, you've taught me the importance of belts in women's fashion. This one works perfectly with the outfit.

  8. Yes, I so agree, swooshing is a great mood lifter!
Love the combination of blue and black and all of these beautiful textures.
Love the coat with the fury collar, so cozy and rich.
Lots of sunshine and double swooshing for you, pretty lady.
I hope that makes you feel better. If not, listen to your moods and see if it is alerting you to something that you should address. Please forgive my lay person analysis. Lots of doctors in th family....
    Much love ❤️

  9. Hello darling, I hope you're feeling a big brighter now. I've been laid low with this cold that wasn't quite flu, but certainly more than a head cold. Anyway, the dress and blouse combo works so well, but yes, the coat certainly added the wow factor.

So lovely to get back to see you again. Am off for more...

  11. The word magnificent falls short for this marvellous, glorious jacket ! You could wear it over piyamas and its still a a winner.
