Prepster in Mustard and Grey

Now this is more like it. Even though I'm not much of a preppy-style person, I do like the vibe once in a while. I've never really locked into one particular style anyway.
I had many admirers of the mustard yellow (especially with my shoes and sweater matching).

  • Sweater - Steilmann, consignment; last worn here with pleated leather
  • Shirt - LL Bean, consignment; last seen here in August with rainy florals
  • Skirt - vintage 80s, Bianca, thrifted; purchased here on the weekend for $5.00
  • Shoes - Grotesque; first worn here in July with a craptastic dress

Despite swearing up and down the last time I wore this shirt, here it is in my wardrobe again. But I really am still grooving on the menswear vibe of doing a button-down under a sweater. Classy!
I freakin' loved this skirt - from the thigh-high slit to the thick wool, to the perfect below-the-knee length, it's an A+.

The stuff:
I know, awesome shoes, right? I was still wearing my month-old self-pedicure this morning, so I quickly removed it, but I couldn't be bothered to redo my toes. Are we into the No-Toe Season yet? I always enjoy not doing pedicures (and not shaving my legs/pits as much, heh heh) when the weather turns cooler. I saw a few women in tights today, but it's still summer, dammit! I'm keeping my bare legs while I can.

Brassy bling:
That's my Grandma's necklace - I like how it goes with the grey and mustard.

  • Necklace - Anne Klein, vintage 80s, Grandma J's
  • Cuff - Jezebel Charms, gift from L
  • Earrings - Aldo Accessories

Tomorrow looks like it might be cool again - I actually wore a leather jacket today (my yellow one).

  1. I love the entire ensemble. I think I love it when you go matchy.

Grey and mustard looks so much better to me than mustard with black. That goes with a whole lot of other colors, too. Caramel is another example, it just looks so much richer to me paired with grey than the same clothing paired with black.

You pull off any style you try, it's always wonderful to see :)

  3. Wow, your shoes are Grotesque! - coolest name ever for a pair of shoes. Everything you wear with them should be craptastic. But yes, A+ on the skirt. You prep-up well.

  5. Ohhhh yes - the colours and the fit of this outfit are outstanding.
I say to myself that I don't stick with any particular style, but when I log back and look at pictures I see I do.
