Chinoiserie and a Pouf Butt

Ah, I'm so tired. Been working late again - much craziness at work. On the plus side, L and I have been having a Top Secret Project happening in our house. I will have a big picture post of it this weekend. Hint: it involves a pivot.
I loved this outfit today, although I'm not sure if this skirt will stay in my wardrobe after the summer. It's rather short, and I do a lot of bending over at work. I don't like showing off my frilly pantaloons!

I adore this new piece of Chinoiserie. It joins this top, this top, these shoes and this jacket in my collection. I thrifted it here this past weekend for $14.50.
The quite short skirt was last seen here in March for St. Patrick's Day.
The jacket flares out at the bottom (it has pockets!), so cinched with the leather obi, and combined with the pouf of the skirt, I have a pouf butt. I also realized when I got home that I'd buttoned and secured the waistband of the skirt but forgot to zip it up! I wore it like that all day. Thank goodness the jacket covered it.

The stuff:
Um, sorry, it didn't look blurry when it was an inch wide.
I had to do some glueing on these shoes when I got home: the soles of the heels both popped off! They are fine now (I use Zap-a-Gap superglue - available in hobby stores - for my glueing needs). I just wore these ultra-comfy shoes here (2nd outfit) last weekend to go shopping in the rain. Hmmm...I think we just figured out why the heels came off.

Round bling:
Except for the Fulvia Ring, which is a rounded rectangle.

Jacket (no label, thrifted), skirt (Quillaree, consignment), shoes (Modern Vintage), obi (consignment), rings (Wendy Brandes), earrings (thrifted).

Shoe Shine starts this Saturday, bright and early,
and goes all week!

  3. Sheila, I just started reading your blog and I love it. I do basically the same as you with the one exception is that I prepare my outfits 30 days in advance. So I put the skirt with the top I am going to wear together and I also match the jewelry and put it in a small ziplock which I hang by the outfit. When I am done wearing the outfit the top goes in the laundry and if the skirt is clean I put it at the end of the closet rack with a new top and jewelry. At the end of the 30 days I already have the next batch of outfits ready.
    I love your style

Nope, flashing one's bloomers at work is not a good plan! xxx

Think you can pull off that skirt perfectly- maybe just not for work.
