The Last of the Camo-Dress

I'm at that point in my wardrobe where I start looking at the backwards hangers* to see what I'm not wearing. Hello, camo-dress.
It's not really camouflage, unless it's in MY wardrobe! You know I have all the colours. It's easy to lose things in there. Good thing I check the hangers.*

  • Dress - Dept, thrifted; last seen here on my rock & roll football holiday to Nashville, TN back in October
  • Boots - Kope Tiam Coffee, Fluevog; last worn here (2nd outfit) for clomping around in an office supply store in yeti coat and leather pants in February

*What's this business? When I pull out my half-year wardrobe (either spring/summer or fall/winter), I hang everything up with the hangers backwards. As I wear things, I put them back with the hangers the "right" way. This lets me see what I'm not wearing. Easy-peasy.
So, I'm going to put this dress in the giveaway pile once I've washed it. Let us send it off with a fond stroll down Memory Lane.

In addition to the couple of wears in Seattle and Nashville in October 2015, I also wore it:

  • In December 2014 here with blue legs and black shoes;
  • In October 2014 with a mash of orange and tan.

So, not very much, really. I only paid $8.00 for it, and although I like it, it's time to go. I'm down to about $2.00 per wear, which I'm happy with.
You may be wondering why I'm wearing a long-sleeved dress and booties in July? It's been rather chilly in my part of the world (which appears to be the only part of North America that is not experiencing a heat wave). It finally got sunny in time for my walk home, but even then, it's not that warm out.

The stuff:
These are probably the most neutral shoes I own, but they are super-comfy.

Belt-focused bling:
I actually wore the dress because it went so well with this belt! I had to wear the belt again!

  • Belt - Fendi, thrifted
  • Earrings - local
  • Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes

  1. You gave the dress a great final wear, although it's a shame to see it go as it is a really lovely piece.
It's strange as we are actually having a mini-heatwave here, it's going to get up to 28 in a couple days. Spring seems to be in a hurry to arrive!

    1. I know...but I can't keep everything, and it's a polyester, and not that well made either. So...if I miss it, I can always look at the pictures, right?

  2. We are in the midst of a stinking hot July so no long sleeves and ankle boots here. I like the colour explosion in the dress pattern, but if you've tired of it, it might as well go off to a new home to make room for something new and wonderful. I'm purging a big pile of stuff (hopefully) in our neighbourhood yard sale this weekend.

    1. Ha, I'm in long sleeves again today, too. It's a great dress, and I'm sure it will go to a good home. I won't miss it. Good for you for selling some stuff off - I'd be at that sale!

    1. Oh, all my days are like that - I'm always on the lookout for things that have worn out their welcome. I know, the belt, right??

  5. If that dress were a couple of inches longer I'd be on the scrounge for it, but I fancy it would be too short for me - I don't do knees! However, it's got all the right colours and did look fab. We're still having a heatwave here with more to come seemingly, so no boots for me currently.

    1. I've worn a long slip over it to lengthen it, but it's not too bad, lengthwise. The heat is back here finally!
