Danger Pants!

Happy Friday! I am just relieved that I made it home alive.
The true nature of these awesome pants has revealed itself: they are out to murder me.

Linking up to Bella's "Secondhand First" over at The Citizen Rosebud! Get yourself over there!

So: Danger Pants! I tripped and wiped out on the sidewalk outside my office building first thing this morning - I put it down one of my usual "Dangerprone Daphne" mishaps (like falling off the bus). Right there in front of the traffic and everyone arriving at work. "Nothing to see here! Carry on!"

Didn't even spill my coffee.
This is my new-to-me thrifted green top, just purchased last weekend (here) for $3.00.

I wore a blue cami underneath for coverage.
The pants, while completely stunning, caught on my bare toe later in the day, and I crashed into the printer room wall. Very elegant of me. "No, I'm fine, it's just a small bruise, carry on."

I last wore the Danger Pants for a breezy weekend chill-out here (2nd outfit) in May. Perhaps it was the absence of alcohol that caused them to want to murder me today?

Beware: pictures of the damage done by Danger Pants!
I smushed up my toes, scraping the nail polish off two of them, and splitting my middle toe open (it bled a fair bit and I moaned about it like a drama queen). Um, yes, I coloured my toenails with a pink highlighter so that they would look nicer while I was at work. Doesn't everyone do that?

And me with Sad Face:
Sidewalk burn! Fortunately, there was no damage to the pants (highly suspicious), even though I sustained bruises, cuts and scrapes. You can believe that I had a death grip on the stair railings all day at work! And I was extremely careful getting on and off the bus on the way home!

I totally forgot to take the picture of the shoes and my mom's vintage belt, and I'm too lazy to pull them back out of the closet to pose them again. But these are my Coach gold sandals, last seen at the same time as the pants (here, again).

Top (Ricki's, thrifted), pants (Signature 8, consignment), shoes (Coach), belt (vintage 60s, Mom's).

Are you ready for Shoe Shine?

All these link-ups take time to get around to! It's going up early Saturday morning, and will be up for a week, to give y'all time to show off your kicks.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Sorry you fell, but cool outfit! And LOL about the marker on your toenails. I thought I was the only one who did that when I need a quick polish fix, hahaha!

  2. Aw Sheila...that was kind of a nasty fall you had there. I hope the masses were concerned and offering assistance! It feels much better to wave them off with a 'Really, I'm fine.' than to have uncaring people stepping over you, which, sadly, I've had happen! Take a hot bath tonight and relax! Hope you don't end up bruised tomorrow.

  5. They are the gorgeousest murder pants I've ever seen! I had a lever under my car seat that used to catch on unwary hems and launch me out of the car onto the pavement regularly, so I can feel exactly your pain. Wince! Wince!

  8. Why do the Danger Pants have to be so damn gorgeous?!?!?! It's just so you won't get mad at them, I suppose. Sorry about your owies, and I hope they heal fast. Would the DP look as good if you took them up an inch? Maybe it's really just a Danger Hem.

  9. Ah, sneaky palazzo pants. I have had a few brushes with danger with them as well. I have to remember to lift them when I go up the stairs and mount an escalator (DANGER), and avoiding wind is a good idea too. I'm glad you were able to walk away from your mishaps, still in these fine pants. They are just testing if we are worthy, and you certainly are. Sorry about the pain! Ouch! I don't think I'll be able to make Shoe Shine... but you never know. I love these comments - murder pants, spy pants, suspicious pants. hahaha.

  12. Ouch! Hope you're feeling better. I landed something on my foot the other weekend and could have sworn it was broken for like two days.

    Love the printed pants.

  13. I"m sorry you got hurt but I do love those danger pants! They are exactly what I am dreaming of finding. I am quite a klutz though so perhaps I should be warned. I wonder how the pants did not tear when you fell? What are they made of? Perhaps if I find some pants like that I had better only wear them at home.
