Rainbow Bright Plaid

Ah, from a crazy weekend to a crazy week. L's step-dad's funeral is this week and we have to take a couple of days off to get there and do the family thing. I'm frantically trying to get everything done I need to at work for this unplanned absence.

Anyway, let's fake it with some bright colours! Woo!
Yeah, I'm going to be bustin' out all kinds of outfits from the new-to-me stuff I got over the weekend. I also have to figure out what to wear to a funeral! It's been a while.

This is my lovely taffeta plaid dress that I thrifted for $18.00 on Saturday (here, in case you missed it).
Through the camera's viewpoint, I can see that not all of the colours in the dress (particularly the ones I picked as accessory or accent colours) are clear. It does have a tomato red, a yellowy-orange and aqua in it.
The no-name red cardigan rides again. I can't remember when I last wore it, but I've had it a while and I wear it fairly frequently.

A shot after work of me in my bare feet to show off how perfectly this dress fits. I had to wear a little turquoise cami to decrease the acreage in the boobular region.
It billowed most splendiferously as I went down stairs today.

The stuff:
Kraft Dinner yellow shoes, last seen here in April with the Emerald Green Dress of Checkerboard Awesomeness (oh and hey, there's the red cardi!).

Big bling:
Chunky rings and earrings rule.

Dress (Coldwater Creek, thrifted), cardigan (consignment), belt (Bianca Nygard), earrings/ring (Oscar & Libby's), Fulvia Ring (Wendy Brandes).

  2. Oh that dress is fun! I love the tsubos with it.

Figuring out what to wear to a funeral is one of the single most confusing thing for me. Funerals are also very strange in my mind, especially ones that are particularly religious in nature. I'm very glad to have taken a class "On death and dying" but it still doesn't make picking out funeral wear any easier.

My condolences to you and L. Lots of hugs to you both.

  3. I love that plaid and the colors and the cut and the shape - it's just delicious! Sorry that it won't be even close to appropriate for a funeral, but I know you have no shortage of classy clothes.

  4. Sorry to hear about L's step-dad. But you do a pretty credible job of faking it in the colour department. Those shoes are perfect with this. I hope your trip goes as smoothly as possible - never an easy time.

  10. I really like the orangey shoes with all the pink. Much better than pink or red.

Today I'm wearing a similarly bright and colourful outfit. I'm determined that it WILL be spring despite the weather.

Sorry to hear about L's step-father's death. I hope the funeral goes well (is that an appropriate thing to say?)
